My first band. Back then (at the age of 16), I had the amazing opportunity to see bands like The Nice and Taste at Hamburg's Star Club. Yes, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Jefferson Airplane, and Pink Floyd performed in small venues. For Yes, there were only about 200 people in the Hamburg Musikhalle. My records from back then: all the bands with Eric Clapton, Santana, and Ten Years After, and later, John McLaughlin.

Again, a pure guitar band. Back then, we were often compared to Wishbone Ash. The songs had many parts and, in retrospect, seem somewhat contrived. We were very fortunate to be able to record a demo with Thomas Kuckuck (later Udo Lindenberg’s sound engineer). We practiced a lot and played relatively little. We were well-known in western Hamburg, but unfortunately didn’t get a record deal. During this time, we saw some great concerts by Led Zeppelin and the Mahavishnu Orchestra in Hamburg. My equipment: Gibson SG Standard with VOX AC-30 and “Power Booster.” We smoked a lot…
